Happy New Year!

Having had a wonderfully quiet Christmas Day knitting a picture frame  (makes me laugh!) I was ready to party!

I went to stay with a friend who lives near Stroud. She lives in a great village, full of life and community events.

I was delighted to join her in helping to paint the backdrop for the village Panto – Hamalot

And then to do some table centre flower arrangements for the New Year’s Eve party.

I don’t buy flowers, except from garden gates (for environmental reasons as a vast amount of cut flowers are grown overseas or in heated greenhouses) and so relied on a woodland walk and my friend’s garden for foliage, berries and old-man’s-beard. Moss made up for the lack of materials and the cotoneaster berries shone festively!

Everyone brought food to share, there was a glitter ball, balloons, party poppers and streamers, loads of dancing, and champagne and Auld Lang Syne at midnight! A perfect start to the New Year!!

Hope you enjoyed yours wherever you were and that you have peace, joy, great good health and fulfilling creativity in the year to come!
